GBACGSA is PROUD to Sponsor and Support these Activities

  • Nate's Open Door Baby Pantry & Exchange - A not-for-profit baby pantry that assists Coast Guard Families along with other Military Branches and the civilian employees who work at Curtis Bay and the surrounding Coast Guard Units.  To date, more than 1700 family members have received FREE items from our pantry as well as school supplies, and emergent family care and assistance - ALL THROUGH THE MISSION OF NATES!  Helping Our Own means EVERYONE!

  • Angel Tree - Just one of the few associations on base that assist the Base Chaplain by donating gift cards to help fill the requests of our most special 'Angels' during the Christmas Holiday.  If you or someone you know who is an Active Duty, Retired or Reservist Coast Guard Family who might benefit from the Angel Tree Program, please contact the Base Chaplain or our Executive Board.  All names are kept in the strictest of confidence!

  • HOOFTH - "Helping Our Own For The Holidays", one of the main projects for the Coast Guard Warrant Officers Association; the Spouse Association contributes at what ever level we are needed to help the CGWOA and their goal for that year.  If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, contact the Base Chaplain or any member of the CGWOA or the CPOA.  Use the links provided to reach the them through their website.

  • CGSA Essay Scholarship - Two scholarships are awarded each year to the child and spouse dependent of an active, retired, or reservists Coast Guard Member.  Our first year was 2006 for this program; we look forward to providing this service for years to come!  The cash prize may vary depending on the funds acquired yearly from our group. We have also just extended this program to include the Civilian USCG Workforce located on the YARD Campus & Ord. Road!

  • Children's Holiday Parties - We know how important morale is to our military families and civilian employees at Curtis Bay.  Each year the commands struggle with allocating funds for missions of the Coast Guard and sometimes little is left over for morale events that would include family members - in steps US!  Working with other groups on base, we strive to ensure even the 'littlest of members' are able to experience a positive memory of their tour here in our area.  We welcome all volunteers at any level of participation.  Please contact us if you would like to join in the fun!

  • Community Relations - Just like our spouses, we are called upon to help with various community programs that enrich children and adults in education, housing, and self-enrichment for home and environmental welfare.  When called upon, the CGSA has participate in 'Coats for Kids', 'Hurricane Katrina & Rita Relief', 'PIE - Partners in Education' (Curtis Bay Elementary School in Baltimore - also part of the mission under Nate's Pantry), rehab of the USCGC TANEY Maritime Museum and 'Earth Day'.  We will continue to support such efforts and encourage our Coast Guard Families to do the same. Please check the website for current events and contact us if you'd like to join in!

  • Calling Cards for the Troops - We've also pledged to participate in activities where positive goals are the key focus, and where support of our troops who defend our way of life are needed.  Plans have been researched to find ways to support our troops in all military branches by sending calling cards, greeting cards and treasures from home, to let our men and women know just how proud we are that they have made the decision to volunteer to keep America the Land of the Free & The Home of the Brave!
