Programming your first system into the BCD396T. This will program Anne Arundel County into your radio. Turn the radio on. Press the MENU button (it's the lower side of the large rubber button on the LEFT side of the radio) The words "Program System" should be highlighted. Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The top of the screen should now say "Select System" While watching the screen, turn the knob on the top of the radio counter-clockwise. When you see the words "New System" highlighted, stop. Press the "EYes" key on the keypad (to program a new system). The screen should now say "Select Sys Type". Turn the knob on top clockwise once to highlight "MOT" Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The screen should now say "MOT" at the top and "P25" is highlighted. Turn the knob clockwise until "800Mhz Standard" is highlighted. Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. You will be prompted to Confirm... Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The scanner will assign a name like "System 51" and that will be displayed on the top of the display. Turn the knob on top again to highlight "Edit Sys Option" Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The words "Set Quick Key" should be highlighted. Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. Turn the knob and scroll to a number of your choice. Not knowing what is programmed in your radio, I suggest you scroll counter-clockwise and select "99". Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The words "Set Quick Key" should be highlighted again. Press the MENU button again (it's the lower side of the large rubber button on the LEFT side of the radio). Turn the knob on top clockwise to highlight "Set Frequencies" Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The words "New Frequency" should be highlighted. Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The screen should now say "Input Frequency". Using the keypad, enter 854.3375 Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. Press the MENU button again (it's the lower side of the large rubber button on the LEFT side of the radio). Scroll down using the knob on top to highlight the words "New Frequency" Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. The screen should now say "Input Frequency". Using the keypad, enter 854.4125 Press the "EYes" key on the keypad. That's all you need to get started. Now press scan.... Depending on what you have programmed you should see 854.3375 on the 3rd line from the bottom of the display. You should also start seeing things like ID:1680 showing up on the screen.
