"Daisy"
This is Daisy. She was a 15" Tri-Color Beagle and weighed 34 lbs. She was born November 10, 1994 in Manassas, VA. We brought Daisy home January 15, 1995 and couldn't resist her. She enjoyed growing up in an apartment around lots of paths, a big field to play on with all of her friends, and the Little Patuxent River to swim in.
In 1996 she attended the Coventry School For Dogs and Their People and completed the beginning and intermediate obedience courses. She also knew lots of tricks (that she LOVED to show off!) Click here to see a list of commands and tricks.
In 1996, we joined National Capital Therapy Dogs, Inc., and then in 1997 joined Delta Society Pet Partners Program. She visited patients and cheered them up. She did tricks, would go for a walk, be brushed, or just hugged. She loved people of all ages but was partial to children. Click here to read some of our favorite visiting stories.
In 1997, We came home one day with a new puppy, Annabelle. Daisy thought she was her puppy and let her eat of her bowl, slept next to her crate, and generally kept her out of trouble, and even helped with some of her training! Soon they played together, ate together, visited together, and did just about everything together. They were more like sisters.
In 1998, we all moved to Laurel, Maryland to a house with our own fenced in yard!
She loved riding in the car. She went with us to Lewes, Delaware and Ocean City, Maryland. When she couldn't come with us, they stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's with uncles Rusty (Cocker Spaniel) and Dogbert (Beagle).
Daisy died May 19, 2001 due to auto immune hemolytic anemia. Needless to say, we were all very sad. Daisy was a great dog and will always be our "sweet pea".
