info : "DEATH CALLS MRS. H.W. FRENCH FRIDAY; WAS 83 YEARS OLD. Mrs. Henry
W. French, who before her marriage was Cornelia Ann Swick, was born
July 18, 1854 at Buffalo, New York and passed away March 5, 1937.
She was left an orphan at the age of nine years and made her home
with Mr. and Mrs. Asher Freeman of Royalton Center, New York.
On June 21, 1871 she was married to Henry W. French, and came to
Michigan the same year, locating in Bethany township for a while.
In 1883 they moved to their farm in Emerson township, where they
lived forty-six years, moving to St. Louis, Michigan, Nov. 19, 1932.
Four children came to this home: William, residing on the farm in
Emerson township; Mrs. Carrie Shirey, of Alma; Charles Asher, who
went West at the age of twenty-one years, and Frank, who died in
infancy..."
