A TYPICAL DAY IN CLASS


Although no two days are alike in nursery school,
the teachers follow a schedule
which allows the children to adapt to a routine.

Peanuts Puzzle

Opening Circle
30 minutes (shorter for three's)
Theme is Introduced
Lesson through Music, Stories, Movement & Conversation
Calendar, Number Recognition and Weather
Opposites and Rhyming Activities
Plans for the Day

Rotations
1 hour (shorter for three's)
Four 15 Minute Rotations
Children rotate through several activities such as
Making a Craft, Educational Games and Modified Free Play
during which children can visit activity areas such as:
Housekeeping, Block & Legos
Cars & Trucks, Puzzles, Play Dough,
Hands-On Learning Activities, etc.
In January, the fours will start the Alphabet Program
where they learn Letter Recognition and Printing.

Artist Clean-Up
5 minutes
With adult help the children make the room
neat and tidy for the next class.
Books

Circle Time
20 minutes (shorter for threes)
Teacher reads a Story,
Follow up on Theme of the Day
and following directions.

Snack Time
15 minutes
After washing hands, the children are seated and enjoy a healthy snack.

Our Pirate Ship Outside Play
15 minutes
The children enjoy our wonderful
playground with a pirate ship and a train!
(In inclement weather they will do a
large muscle activity indoors)
