Ø Saturday, Sunday, and Monday – September 5, 6, & 7 – It’s the annual ANDY MACKIE MUSIC FOUNDATION FESTIVAL WEEKEND at Memorial Field in Port Townsend. Incredible music including all of Andy’s kids, special guests, silent auction, and who knows who will stop in. Jack will MC the show and it’s one you don’t want to miss.

· Thursday, December 23^rd – “TOWNS END ~ LIVE” – films at The UpStage Theater and Restaurant. Featured will be WATER STREET TROLLEY, Jack Reid and Mike Mullin. They’ll be doing original music from both artists as well as a few traditional favorites. The 1^st half of the show will be Softwind Productions recording artist Leslie Wake. Leslie will be joined on guitar by Mark Hering. They were together for our very 1^st show back in April, so we know we’re in for a treat. Call 360-385-2216 reservations and information. There will be a $5.00 cover, which is shared among the artists.

· Saturday Nov. 22^nd and Sunday, Nov. 23^rd will be the Peninsula Singers Fall Concert at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sequim. Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday at 2:00. The 2^nd half of the concert will be the Rutter Requiem with cello, flute and oboe. Don’t miss this beautiful setting. $10.00 at the door.

· Thursday, November 20^th - “TOWNS END ~ LIVE” – films at The UpStage. Get ready for a good one. Howly and Da’ Boyz and Daniel Macke are coming your way this night. First on the agenda will be Howly and Da’ Boyz. Howly Slim is published in “Working the Woods, Working the Sea” with his work Pineapple. Pineapple is the story of an old Hawaiian tree planter he knew from his reforestation days. He will be playing his tunes along with a song or two by old pals and a few obscure covers of his old favorites. Howly will be joined by Da’ Boyz: Chuck Easton and George Radebaugh. Daniel Mack’s music has evolved out of classical training, but never on the classical guitar. The influences of Kotke, Renbvourne, Fahey and Hedges all deepened his interest in what the steel-string guitar, and especially the 12-string, could do, and that’s been his workshop for over 30 years. With the 12-string, it’s easy to be big and loud; the challenge is selecting from the myriad of voices. With the 6-string, the beauty is in the clarity where less is much more. Daniel’s style falls in between styles. He’s played in jazz, bluegrass and good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll bands, but his own music is a sort of ‘blues-grass’ with a touch of poetry. As you watch and listen to Daniel play, you’ll discover that he’s really playing your heart strings; he just uses the guitar to hold them while he plays. Call 360-385-2216 for info and reservations.

· Wednesday, November 19^th – HOUSE CONCERT - Jack, Deb and Jessica Reid will be in concert at the home of Mary Bradley. You’ll hear a wide variety of music from Folk to Western to Opera. Their exquisite harmonies and moving arrangement of The Gift of Love will touch your soul. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear them all together, and get to taste some of Mary’s "Texas Cookin’". • Thursday, October 23^rd – “TOWNS END ~ LIVE” – films at The UpStage. Featured will be Karen Sullivan and JJ and Friends. Karen Sullivan, singer, songwriter and sailboat captain, has a beautiful voice, plays great guitar and has an absolutely outrageous sense of humor.   Karen Sullivan is best known for her original songs that tell stories about subjects ranging from a sailing adventure to a soldier’s letters in World War 2, to a stagecoach driver’s woes on the Overland Trail in 1858. Her fingerstyle guitar playing in alternate tunings adds depth and interest to the lyrics and rich melodies, and her three-and-a-half octave vocal range will take you to those places she writes about.  Jim "JJ" Jenkins and Friends will give you a great spread of music from slow to swing to sacred to sexy to serious to silly; all specially selected to sooth the soul. Coming to Port Townsend about 2 1/2  years ago from Ohio, Jim is a musician, actor, photographer, lighting designer, computer graphic artist, webmaster, caregiver, carpenter, bartender, or whatever it takes.    Jim “JJ” Jenkins – Guitar and vocals and friends include “Hammerin’ Hank” Sondie – Saxophone and flute, Mike Mullen – Guitar, Bazouki, and Vocals, Pete Toyne – Jazz Guitar, and Raven – Fender Bass and vocal

I hear they will be sans the dog, and I must say I’m beginning to wonder. I haven’t seen the dog in a long, long time…………………. · A NEW TV SHOW – Films for the first time, THURSDAY, APRIL 24^TH AT 7 PM AT THE UPSTAGE – This will be the filming of the very first TOWNS END – LIVE. It will be a benefit for the TV station as well as the kick-off for a brand new monthly show. You’ll see 2 acts featured each month, and you can be part of the filming. Watch the Leader for dates.
