“Towns End~Live”

STARTING OUR 2ND YEAR

An OPeN Media production originating in Port Townsend.

The next “Towns End~Live” will tape Thursday, June 25th at 7 pm at The UpStage Theater and Restaurant.  Our Featured Artists will be  Andre Feriante and Eric Fridrich.  They are joined for the 2nd half of the show by operatic tenor Steve Thoreson and bassist Steve Kim.

Feriante and Fridrich are a duo that combines all the spices of life from tearful sadness to abundant joy, as the music and dialogue will express freely and fearlessly into the hearts and minds of the listeners.

Andre Feriante 0ffers virtuosi flamenco/classical guitar with original composition and poetic verse.  A cross-over artist in the vein of Yo Yo Ma or Sting, his performance program represents a bold but fluid musical fusion, featuring music from Bach to Leonard Cohen, flamenco improvisation to jazz standards, and even poetry by Federico Garcia Lorca, Rumi, and Feriante himself.

Eric Fridrich brings the Chicago blues into

his eclectic, worldly song writing, giving voice,

guitar, and harmonica souls of their own. Once

these two get together anything can happen.

Feriante and Fridrich spontaneously became a trio from a shared performance with Steve Thoreson, a world-renowned operatic tenor.  Each artist shared their solo works then combined styles in improvisation that became beautifully, a unique and powerful display.

Joining the performance will be Steve Kim a Northwest icon of the electric fretless bass.

We had a great time over the Labor Day weekend.  Jack was the MC for the Andy Mackie Music Festival weekend at Memorial Field.  What Andy does for our children is something very special.  We were glad to be a part of the fun.
