“Towns End~Live”

A Northwest OPeN Media production originating in Port Townsend. 

The next “Towns End~Live” will tape Tuesday, July 20th, at 7 pm at The UpStage Theater and Restaurant.  Our Featured Artist will be  STEVE LEWIS and FRIENDS.   The program is "About Sea Chanteys - with Steve Lewis and Friends" The vocabulary, culture, history and purpose of sea chanteys - explained with examples, for a modern audience. There are many sound bites from the CD on the site now.  "The Storm" is the story of the 2nd coming of the Ghost Riders.  "The Old Songwriter" is a song I wrote that talks about having to absorb the world to write about it.  “Angelina’s Face” is the story of an angel who lives on the mountain and rescues lost souls. And the big news is…………………..WE’RE BACK IN THE STUDIO!!!!!!
A new CD called “PROMISE” is in the making.  Basic tracks went down last week and we should be mixing by the end of this month.  Jack has been co-writing with friend, poet and lyricist, Mary Bradley.  The new CD will feature 11 of their songs, including the title tune “Promise”.  The theme is both western and promising.  Watch here for updates and ordering information.

If you’re in Port Townsend, WA, don’t forget the “Open Mic at The Upstage”, every MONDAY nite starting at 7, and hosted by Gerry Sherman and Yours Truly.  There is also a great Open Mic at The Uptown Pub every Tuesday nite beginning at 8 and at Sirens every Wednesday nite beginning at 10. Open Mic venues are popular here and there is some wonderful music to be heard.
