This map was compiled from the much larger coal basin map sold by John Pritiskutch Reproductions of Minersville, PA. It discards much of the northern anthracite coalfield, information on coal tonnage figures, and operating collieries. Four scans were made of the central and southern coal bearing regions, these were pieced together, and the whole was recolored to remove scanning and compression artifacts. The much larger original map would have been impractical to display on a home computer system by reason of size and corollary download time.
